The sequel was fairly similar to the original gameplay wise but many new modes and features had been added. Star Wars: Battlefront II the much anticipated sequel to the original was released November 1, 2005. Although heroes appear in the game they are unplayable. Players could play in instant play and in online battles with up to 16 players on the PS2, 50 on the PC and 32 on the Mac. It is a class based shooter similar to the Battlefield franchise. Star Wars: Battlefront the first game in the Battlefront series was released on September 21, 2004.
